At Senteurs d’Orient, we are involved with the local communities of Lebanon. We regularly collaborate with the United Nations to help fund and raise awareness surrounding women’s issues. Our latest project to date is the “Empowerment of Women in Rural Areas”, implemented in collaboration with the UN as well as with the Lebanon Family Planning Association.
Our goal was to raise money in order to offer computing classes to 27 women coming from remote areas of the country. We successfully raised $5,000 and, on September 27th 2013, these women were awarded a certificate for the completion of their training. This acquired knowledge will help them find work on a job market that requires specific training.
We are very proud of what these women have accomplished under our sponsorship. The next project is already in the works and we are looking forward to helping more people.
